Oil-jars and window-sills run riot with geraniums which flower late into the autumn. Delightful retreats, such as the summerhouse, the shady terrace of oaks and the portico provide cosy nooks in which to read, muse and relax. A winding path amidst broom bushes, dog roses and junipers leads in a few minutes walk up to the “Poggio Radice” with a superb view of southern Tuscany and Umbria: Monte Cetona, the lake of Chiusi, the castles of Camposervoli and Fighine, Città della Pieve, Orvieto and Lake Trasimeno.

An age-old olive-tree rises on the brink of the pool, inset so as to create a mirage effect of the medieval Castle of Fighine rising from its crystal waters. The sing-song ripple of the rocky falls, the perfume of lavender, roses and rosemary are conducive, as the best aromatherapy, to moments of absolute relax.
